That awesome moment when
Your university sends out student wide pseudo-victim blaming emails.
There have been kidnapping and mugging incidents at nearby universities lately. So they sent out a student wide email with tips on how to be safe. I get it, it’s to help us. I understand that. It is helpful. But you see the same things when there are sexual assaults on campuses. They rely on the innocent people or the victims to fix the problem. Instead of saying “hey it’s not cool to rape/mug/kidnap people” they are sending a message that says “You aren’t responsible for your actions. the people that were walking alone at night are responsible. they should have known better.”
